Day 1

India and Australia will meet on Tuesday in Dubai International Cricket Stadium’s semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025, looking to reach their respective finals after impressive starts to their campaigns. Rohit Sharma’s men defeated Bangladesh and New Zealand, setting up a matchup between familiar foes in Rohit Sharma’s last four. Rohit’s men will hope to replicate the success they showed during Border-Gavaskar Trophy series earlier this year when they won three out of five matches against Australia.

Test match between India and Australia will likely prove one of the most thrilling contests of 2018. Their fierce rivalry has made for exciting encounters over 107 tests played, each team winning 45 times while 29 encounters ended up as draws.

India’s bowlers have made an impressive start to the match, and Jasprit Bumrah in particular has had an excellent opening over. He struck twice against Usman Khawaja – including an edge to second slip off his final delivery – as Sam Konstas had engaged Bumrah in an emotional exchange during an earlier over; Bumrah made his feelings known when he removed non-striker Konstas off strike.

KL Rahul batted with precision, wearing down Australian bowlers. His role was vital in helping his teammates relax; he even found time to calm debutant Yashavi Jaiswal as they posted an impressive sixth wicket partnership of 103 runs together. Meanwhile, the Indian middle order held strong even without Virat Kohli or Cheteshwar Pujara present early.

Australian team suffered a setback when Josh Hazlewood was forced out of Sunday’s second Test in Canberra due to a low grade left side injury, but Australia have an extensive team and can afford for one player to miss some days at least.

Day 2

On Day Two of a potentially series-defining Test match, everything went right for India – from its debutant making an immediate impact to phenomenal Indian slip catching to Scott Boland taking four-should-have-been-five wickets and Rishabh Pant’s flashes of brilliance and mysterious Jasprit Bumrah injury and other potential drama. All in all, this match will go down as one of India’s most memorable in this generation.

Australia have put the tourists in an extremely vulnerable position and their batsmen must demonstrate determination on day three to come close to Australia’s impressive total of 310 at Adelaide Oval for victory. A few late innings runs from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma were not enough to prevent Australia from building an imperious lead – only KL Rahul showed any promise during Australia’s innings lead.

Rain was once again the culprit on an otherwise promising Australian tour; seemingly more stoppages than deliveries were bowled; but Travis Head’s second century and Marnus Labuschagne’s 64 were instrumental to Australia regaining control in the late afternoon with spinners providing vital assistance.

Boland quickly steps up to replace injured Starc and quickly finds his rhythm. Although the crowd are vocally criticising, Boland performs flawlessly and the new ball soon leads to Jaiswal being overtaken on pace on legside; but, even his efforts only allow for him to edge close behind square leg.

Jaiswal’s guard has slightly adjusted in his second innings and he seems less susceptible to short deliveries. Leaning back, he smacked past mid on for four before sending another ball whizzing along behind point for yet another four.

Kohli looks to rake up singles with some sharp shots and sees daylight at the non-striker’s end. Unfortunately, there was a delay before the 23rd over as Nitish received some medical treatment, creating more late day time-wasting by Boland and Kohli who attempted reconciliation but neither succeeded as Boland took off his helmet to return it afterward clapping his hands and taking it off in appreciation of Boland.

Day 3

Australia’s seamers proved dominant during a rain-delayed day three in Brisbane. Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first Indian victim, caught at gully by Mitchell Marsh after an edge into off-side by Shubman Gill; Virat Kohli caught Shubman Gill at midwicket off Josh Hazlewood; India now stand at 51/4 with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma yet to open their accounts.

Travis Head’s career-best score of 152 helped Australia rebound from 164-5. Together with Beau Webster he shared an alliance of 107 to put Australia back on top, giving them an advantage of 116 over India.

Reddy’s unbeaten century in Test cricket – his maiden ton – offered India hope. He reached it within two hours and was cheered on by over 80,000 supporters; even his father broke down in tears in the stands.

21-year-old Sriram had an astonishing innings, becoming only the third youngest Indian ever to score a Test century in Australia. His powerful strokes and strong defence earned him a standing ovation from home supporters.

He will need more innings like these in order to establish himself as an important member of India’s side, adding value with his feistiness and hunger.

Youngster Mandeep Singh is known for putting team ahead of personal ambition. When his family experienced difficulties last year, he left midway through a Test and returned later that same day – this tireless commitment is one reason India have come so far today.

Teams are currently preparing for their second Test match in Sydney on Tuesday at 2:30 pm IST, beginning with both sides looking to reach the semi-finals of Champions Trophy 2025 and play off for supremacy against each other in an intense contest that could go down as one of the greatest battles ever seen in cricket history. It will be broadcast live across Sony Six and Ten in India as well as Hotstar and Jio TV online streaming platforms.

Day 4

India and Australia are two of the fiercest rivalry-driven cricket teams on earth. Since 295 matches between them have taken place between them, with Australia winning 143 to India’s 111 victories – which makes their rivalry one of the most closely followed sports events worldwide; one particularly memorable match took place at 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Final between India and Australia which became one of the highest watched sporting events ever!

Both teams have experienced their share of struggles over the years, yet both remain dedicated to fighting hard for every win – which explains the intense India-Australia rivalry. Both nations have faced off numerous times at ICC Champions Trophy tournaments with both having won it twice; their semi-final match will take place again this Tuesday.

Hotstar and Jio TV will broadcast the India-Australia series live. Additionally, you can access live stream of each game on the ICC website. Games will begin at Dubai International Cricket Stadium starting 2:30 PM IST with streaming and telecast available in both Hindi and English versions of this broadcast.

Jasprit Bumrah strikes again to deny Travis Head a century. His back-of-length delivery goes straight off the seam and cuts into Head, who attempts a late back-foot drive but is too late on it; Bumrah then delights his teammate by seeing it land safely against the stumps and watch Bumrah clench his fist in delight as the ball falls onto them clattering down onto them with delight.

Labuschagne and Cummins had formed an unbreakable fifty-run partnership as Australia pushed forward, but Siraj struck again to remove Labuschagne and provide India a crucial breakthrough.

Indian’s batting line-up remains fluid, so it will be interesting to witness their response to the challenge ahead. Young players have already proven their mettle by rising to meet this test at both Gabba and Adelaide – now they have an opportunity to prove their mettle against one of the best sides ever seen on tour.
