Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 90 off 55 balls to help Gujarat Titans (GT) crush Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 39 runs and consolidate their lead at the top of IPL 2025 Points Table. Sai Sudharsan and Gill shared an opening stand of 114 runs which helped establish GT’s total at Eden Gardens before their bowlers restricted KKR to just 159 for eight after 20 overs, although Jos Buttler scored 41 runs off 23 deliveries as some hope; they only managed 59 runs overall!
This season marks KKR’s first consecutive losses and they now find themselves in sixth place, having collected six points out of eight matches played. Their fifth defeat marks an alarming trend for a side that once considered itself one of the favorite contenders to take home the trophy.
