England Cricket Team Vs West Indies Cricket Team Matches
England set their highest ever T20 total ever scored on home soil and breezed to victory against an anemic West Indies side at Southampton on Wednesday. Ben Duckett scored an eye-catching 84, which was supported by captain Harry Brook and Jacob Bethell who both produced eye-catching strokes to secure an emphatic win for England.
England’s big-hitting top order breezed past their target, scoring 248-3 in 20 overs for their best T20 score in England ever and tying Australia’s 251-3 score against Australia at Southampton back in 2013.
A ruthless result made light of West Indies’ disastrous tour to Britain, in which their batting collapsed under relentless attack from England. Only Rovman Powell (79) and Shai Hope (36) offered any resistance.
Joe Root joined Jos Buttler and Dawid Malan as England batsmen with two or more T20I centuries, but his hopes of reaching that landmark were dashed when he misjudged an attempt by left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein to pull and was caught behind the stumps for 231. This defeat marked his debut loss as England white-ball captain; Luke Wright replaced Root for their final game at Bristol.

1st T20I
Twenty20 cricket, also known as limited overs cricket or T20 cricket, is one of three formats recognized by the International Cricket Council; others being first-class and List A cricket. Twenty20 is played as one-inning single innings game restricted to twenty overs; it has quickly gained worldwide popularity due to appealing more specifically to younger audiences that lack time for longer versions of cricket.
On February 17, 2005, New Zealand and Australia hosted the inaugural men’s T20I match, held at Eden Park in Auckland and marked by humor and entertainment. Both teams donned retro jerseys while some players even donned fake moustaches; this inaugural T20I helped establish and expand global T20 cricket.
Australia had little difficulty winning this match against New Zealand, bowling them out for just 215. Australia captain Ricky Ponting scored an unbeaten 98 off 55 balls to remain as the highest score until Chris Gayle hit 100 at 2007’s inaugural World T20 tournament. Michael Kasprowicz took four wickets as Australia cruised towards victory.
2nd T20I
After an inauspicious start, Jos Buttler’s fluent 45 off 30 propelled England to post 165/9 in their 20 overs. Axar Patel (2/32) and Brydon Carse both took two wickets as India struggled with keeping up with the required run rate in their chase – however an unbeaten 72 off 55 from Tilak Varma allowed India to win by two wickets, becoming world leaders as a result of this victory.
3rd T20I
Twenty20 cricket (also referred to as T20 or 20/20) is a form of professional men’s cricket played both internationally and domestically, featuring single innings with twenty overs for each batsman per innings. Recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), along with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 matches between England and West Indies have seen 16 victories for England while 18 for West Indies; one match ended without a result.
