Mahedi Hasan

Under Mashrafe’s leadership, Bangladesh was elevated from associate member status to full membership of international cricket. Since his appointment, they have reached three Asia Cup semi-finals and earned themselves a bronze medal at the Asian Games.

Bangladesh made significant strides forward in the one-day international format during the 2010s, as Shakib Al Hasan emerged as the world’s number one all-rounder while Tamim led their batting. Their best results came at the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup when they defeated Sri Lanka and whitewashed Zimbabwe en route to victory.

Mahedi Hasan was instrumental in these successes for Bangladesh, with his spinner skills adapting perfectly to Bangladesh pitches and leading to several wicket-taking performances. Nasum Ahmed

Bangladesh hosted their inaugural Day/night Test match and two-match ODI series against India, and won both. Mashrafe Mortaza stepped down as captain, with Mominul Haque taking his place. Taskin Ahmed
