Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan from Gujarat Terrors (GT) have amassed 541 runs between them in just nine matches of IPL 2024 – placing them as the third-highest batting pair overall. But their ability as chasers remains questionable.
But their impressive show in Ahmedabad demonstrates they can still win games on pitches that do not lend much assistance to fast bowlers.
Gujarat Titans Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Match Scorecard highlights their strong batting and tactical play, showing how the team adapts to challenging conditions.

SRH vs GT
One of the fiercest rivalries in IPL 2025, SRH vs GT has proven one of the most exciting battles and nail-biting finishes.
These games showcase two different approaches – SRH’s fearless boundary-hitting approach against GT’s composed partnership building game – with each side looking for ways to outdo each other on and off the pitch.
As these sides continue developing their squads and teams further escalate this rivalry will only intensify further.
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Kolkata offers batsmen the ideal conditions for scoring big scores, with flat pitches and short boundaries encouraging big scores.
Conversely, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad provides more balance, featuring spin and pace off both pitches which GT have taken advantage of to defend large totals more effectively and weather factors like dew in the evening making chase easier; giving GT an advantage against SRH matches due to bowlers who have performed on these specific surfaces.
Shubman Gill’s elegance and consistency are key components of the GT batting line-up, alongside Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler as support batsmen.
Simarjeet Singh and R Sai Kishore serve as key spinners while Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna complete their attack with vital depth.
SRH have struggled to establish themselves among the top four teams at the beginning of IPL 20, producing poor performances in their opening three matches.
Abhishek Sharma and Ishant Head failed to capitalize on SRH’s aggressive batting strategy against GT’s disciplined bowling attack, failing to make big scores against GT.
Loss against Mumbai Indians provided further proof of SRH’s need for more stability in its middle order, with Sherfane Rutherford alone being able to hold out.
Nitish Reddy and Simarjeet’s addition has given fresh impetus to its middle order batting; their explosive hitting could play an instrumental role in future clashes against GT.
SRH vs RCB
With their win against GT, SRH took an important step toward finishing in the top two in the points table.
After moving up two places to 17 points they now sit just one game behind rivals who currently occupy 16 spots; though if SRH were to come second they’d gain some breathing room before heading into playoffs as any unexpected results may arise in advance of knockout stages.
Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head put on an astonishing 76-run stand for the first wicket in just 28 balls, making batting appear effortless on a surface that had plagued so many others.
Ishan Kishan joined in, hitting sixes and fours off Jaydev Unadkat before Krunal Pandya managed to take control of an over by dismissing Ishan with an edge to Bhuvneshwar Kumar at third man.
Heinrich Klaasen then hit four and sixes off Lungi Ngidi’s over, continuing his streak of five consecutive fifties while needing just 28 balls to reach half century.
Heinrich has shown tremendous form thus far and continues his superb form on day five of the tournament.
Yash Dayal’s offspinner then delivered some slower deliveries but his right-hander was out for six off his first delivery, costing SRH 13 runs in an over with Phil Salt and Mayank Agarwal also contributing with some boundaries; their asking rate has now reached almost 11 an over, meaning Klaasen must continue unleashing his destructive batsmen to continue the carnage at one end.
SRH vs DD
SRH are in danger of missing the playoffs unless they can beat Delhi tonight in their next match – anything other than victory would put an end to their hopes and see them out of contention.
On the other hand, Delhi are close – fifth on the table and heavily dependent upon home wins; tonight they hope to end a two-match losing streak against an intense SRH team under floodlights and secure three points against them.
Cummins decided to bowl first and immediately began his assault on Delhi’s top order from the very first ball, bowling away Karun Nair off his first delivery and taking Faf du Plessis and Abishek Porel wickets over two overs, leaving DC reeling at 26/4 within their powerplay period. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium pitches are generally high-scoring surfaces – anything over 240 will likely make for competitive cricket here.
SRH’s powerful attack includes David Warner, Kane Williamson and Bhuvneshwar Kumar; however, their bowling has been the key to their success – Siddarth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma leading wicket takers while Trent Boult has strong chances at taking home the Purple Cap award.
Kuldeep Yadav could prove to be an incredible threat for Delhi batsmen, as his impressive 3/22 against KKR proved.
Heinrich Klaasen faced 51 balls for 92 runs against Kuldeep Yadav without being dismissed – though lately, Klaasen hasn’t been performing at his best and may struggle against an Australian pacer like Kuldeep Yadav.
SRH vs SRK
This game will be crucial for both sides, as securing a top-4 position is at stake. Ahmedabad weather should favour batsmen with warm temperatures and light breeze. Furthermore, DY Patil Stadium boasts excellent bounce which supports spinners.
SRH made an immediate statement when they defeated fancied RCB in their previous encounter, making them clear favourites to come out victorious in this match and close out the tournament on an impressive note. Meanwhile, Knight Riders may lack motivation after their loss against CSK last year in the Grand Final.
After winning the toss, KKR elected to bat first and made three changes – including Wriddhiman Saha replacing Mohammad Nabi – but were unable to post a competitive total.
Meanwhile SRH started strong as they scored 56 runs in seven overs during their opening innings.
At the halfway mark, they were sailing smoothly at 93/2 with Sunil Narine contributing most of the damage with his 13-ball 26.
However, Rashid Khan tipped the balance as he picked up three wickets within two overs – starting from his 10th over delivery, the leg-spinner bowled brilliantly to shatter confidence among KKR batsmen and take control of proceedings.
Nitish Rana and Abhishek Sharma could only provide temporary hope, being bowled out for 179 with ample time remaining on their innings. Ajinkya Rahane has made up for his batting failure with 20 sixes hit during this edition alone!
SRH vs SRW
Pat Cummins-led South West Harriers have much at stake in an important match that may end in rainout, and that could determine their place in the playoffs race – losing could see them out, forcing them to win all remaining matches to secure any chance at top four finish.
With so much at stake, Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to continue their winning momentum after defeating Delhi Capitals at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Their disciplined bowling effort saw them restrict DC to just 133/7; led by captain Rohit Sharma’s impressive three-wicket haul that completely dismantled their top order.
At Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, batting first is often an advantage and five of eight matches played there have produced 200+ totals or higher. While defending those scores won’t be difficult with dew likely to hit in during second innings play.
SRH must maintain their aggressive style of cricket to succeed. With players such as Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen who excel at hitting boundaries naturally – milking balls or taking less risks would diminish their skillset and undermine SRH’s position in their league.
GT are still fighting hard for playoff qualification and would consider any defeat as a setback in their quest. At present they sit sixth on the table but a win would vault them up two places to 14 points and just two behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). But losing would mean they don’t reach 16 and can never match up against RCB again.
