India vs Bangladesh 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup
After much anticipation and waiting, rain finally stopped play at DY Patil Stadium and forced a game cancellation. India gained an early 1-0 advantage and will need to focus on their semi-final against Australia next. Additionally, Pratika Rawal sustained serious injuries that will need monitoring ahead of the semi-finals.
India’s Smriti Mandhana and Amanjot Kaur had reached 57-0 after 8.4 overs before rain interrupted play and came pouring down. India will hope to recover quickly and triumph against Australia on Thursday in their semifinal.
Bangladesh never got their innings going as they were reduced to 126-9 from 27 overs with Sharmin Akhter Supta’s 36 off 53 balls being the highlight for them. Overall it has been an disappointing tournament but they can take consolation from their performances in limited overs matches.
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty says her side have been defeated by some strong cricketing sides like England, South Africa and Sri Lanka; but she believes their lessons learned will allow them to come back stronger next time around. They possess a talented squad with plenty of young cricketers proving themselves over time.
India bowlers were impressive as they reduced Bangladesh to 119-9 in 27 overs, taking four wickets between Harmanpreet Kaur (two wickets), Radha Yadav, Shree Charani, Renuka Singh, and Renuka Singh – with Mandhana making the most of her opportunity by hitting four boundaries off just 27 balls before being caught out by Harleen Deol at deep midwicket for 23 runs off 27 balls before she was eventually dismissed off Harleen Deol at deep midwicket by Harleen Deol for just 23 off 27 balls; Bangladesh lost momentum as soon as they lost momentum compared to their opponents 119-9 run chased from 27 overs!
India vs Bangladesh 2024 ICC Champions Trophy
India and Bangladesh will face off in an exciting 2024 ICC Champions Trophy match-up that promises to be both entertaining and compelling. Both teams have much at stake in this contest – they last met here during an ODI at this venue during 2018 Asia Cup where India secured victory and advanced to finals while Bangladesh were eliminated early from contention.
Both teams will be missing key players from this match; India due to an injury suffered by Jasprit Bumrah while Bangladesh are mourning Shakib Al Hasan’s absence – all making for an exciting matchup! With such essential figures missing, this contest promises to be even more entertaining to follow!
Bangladesh responded well despite losing two wickets early, thanks to Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali’s remarkable sixth wicket partnership of 154 runs for Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali which set a new record against India ODIs with this innings’ 43rd over dismissal by Mohammed Shami who went on to dismiss Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Taskin Ahmed quickly in quick succession, becoming India’s fastest ever to 50 wickets taken in an ODI match.
Rohit Sharma attempts a run-out shot, but falls short by only reaching sweeper cover before hitting his batsman on the back foot with it.
Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav continue to deliver for India, but their efforts are undermined by Bangladesh’s poor fielding performance. Smriti Mandhana and Amanjot Kaur are not performing at their best either; particularly with Smriti being plagued by an off-to-a-sluggish start.
Axar Patel has been playing exceptionally for India throughout this tournament and he extends his boundary count with a pull shot off Tanzim Hasan Sakib for four. Patel easily hit it for four on short ball; India have now crossed over 200 runs for the first time ever in this Champions Trophy edition!
India vs Bangladesh 2022 ODI Series
India-Bangladesh rivalry has evolved greatly over the past two decades. What was once an one-sided affair where India ruled with an iron fist has since transformed into an intense and competitive rivalry, as evidenced in 2018 Asia Cup final when Bangladesh nearly pulled off an historic first win ever against India before being denied by Rohit Sharma’s extraordinary late rally.
India has traditionally held the upper hand against Bangladesh in One Day Internationals (ODIs). India won 32 out of 42 matches while eight ended in draws. But with Bangladesh’s recent rise coming into play and providing many memorable moments during these clashes – 2022’s ODI series will surely prove no exception!
India took an early advantage in the series by winning the toss and opting to field. Their bowlers provided no letup either – Renuka Singh Thakur’s new ball threat troubled Bangladesh’s openers while her efforts were further assisted due to rain reducing overs per side to 43 overs per team.
Bangladesh struggled to establish any momentum during their innings and were not helped by Litton Das’s quickfire fifty. Sharmin Akhter and Sobhana Mostary provided some respite but could not take Bangladesh any closer towards their target before rain arrived 12.2 overs into their innings and modified India’s target to 126 in 27 overs. India’s chase proved somewhat chaotic but Harmanpreet Kaur’s bowlers maintained control to reach it with five wickets remaining.
Indian captain Smriti Irani lauded her bowlers’ clear approach and noted they have learned much from their previous outings. While disappointed about Pratika Rawal’s injury, she is hopeful she’ll recover before their next match against Pakistan. In particular she applauded Radha Yadav who took three wickets in her debut game of this World Cup and believes she gives India another option against them in future clashes.
India vs Bangladesh 2022 T20 Series
Indian team will be strengthened by the return of familiar faces. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead from the front while Arshdeep Singh returns to play eleven. It will be interesting to see who joins Arshdeep at the top of their order; India could include some younger players for this matchup too.
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty says her team will draw upon all the positives from this campaign and come back stronger than before. She notes how their batting line-up has grown stronger while their bowlers have worked tirelessly. If they can improve on a few key areas then they will become strong contenders for semi-final spots.
India won the toss and elected to bat. Unfortunately, rain returned 12.2 overs into their innings, shortening it to 43 overs per side and leaving Sharmin Akhter and Sobhana Mostary without an impactful batsperson – leaving Bangladesh all out for 119 in 27 overs.
Radha Yadav made an outstanding debut performance, taking three wickets against Bangladesh. Her performance was supported by Shree Charani and Renuka Singh Thakur who each took two. To combat Bangladesh’s struggles in wet conditions, their target was changed from 27 overs to 126 from 29.
Amanjot Kaur had an encouraging start to her innings but was soon dismissed for 49 runs after some impressive cricket was disrupted by some fielding lapses. Her dismissal dealt a serious setback to Bangladesh’s hopes for a comeback.
Indian team held their nerve in the final over and won by seven runs to advance to semi-final clash against South Africa who beat Afghanistan earlier in group play. Unfortunately Pratika Rawal sustained an ankle injury nearing its conclusion of play which puts her into question for next game against Pakistan.
