Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers

Royal Challengers surged up the rankings to third spot with this victory, having won the toss and restricted Rajasthan Royals to 173/4 with disciplined bowling play. Jaiswal led their side with 75.

Adar Poonawalla, CEO of vaccine maker Serum Institute, broke his silence after months of deliberation by posting on X that indicated his plans to bid for an IPL franchise – sending out an important signal about his family’s ambitions beyond Serum Institute alone.

RR vs RCB

Phil Salt from Royal Challengers Bangalore scored six maximums to help secure them an emphatic win against Royal Challengers at Sawai Mansingh Stadium and leap to third spot this season.

It was their fourth road win this season – all four came on away ground. Royal Challengers lost wickets during all powerplays leaving them with an impossible target to chase down.

Even after an inauspicious start to their season, RR’s core batting lineup appears promising this year. Without constant roster tweaking or changes, this team can maintain some consistency over time.

After months of deliberate silence, Adar Poonawalla ended all speculation Thursday through an post on X, declaring his intention to submit a bid for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

As CEO of vaccine company Serum Institute and family member of billionaire Adani Group chairman Gautam Advani, Poonawalla had the option to purchase either partial stakes or full ownership; his decision however, could be further complicated by neither team owning their home grounds; these assets usually belong to state cricket associations or governments which provide scale, visibility and proximity.

RCB vs RR

RCB recorded their fourth win of the season by defeating Rajasthan at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Batting first, they demonstrated much-improved performances by Kohli, Salt and Padikkal to post an impressive 173-4 score at home – their best total this year thanks to excellent bowling from Bhuvneshwar Dayal Hazlewood Livingstone bowlers.

However, they couldn’t maintain their form, struggling with both bat and ball to build on what had been created by their bowlers. Meanwhile, RR had begun strongly by being well positioned after 20 overs at 83-1 before being undone by poor shot selection and dropped catches.

RCB took full advantage of sloppy fielding by their hosts to score eight maximums during the powerplay and secure victory.

RCB have taken four wins away from home so far and now stand in third position, following an inauspicious start to their season. As they gain momentum they should look to continue winning when taking on MI in Mumbai on Sunday.
